The 2021 International Workshop on Cyber Security(CSW 2021) is scheduled to take place on 13 to 15 August 2021 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The purpose of the CSW 2021 is to have in depth discussions on the extremely important disciple of Cyber Security. We intend to bring together some of the leading international research leaders, thought leaders, scholars and others interested parties, involved in Cyber Security, to provide a platform for real information exchange and advancement of the field of Cyber Security.
Cyber Security has grown into one of the most important fields in the last few years as it has now become totally integrated in the daily lives of everyone. Cyberspace has basically grown into a borderless environment, not really controlled by anybody. Every day more and more data is stored in Cyberspace, and more and more systems and applications operate in Cyberspace. So many people all over the world have become so dependent on Cyberspace, that it seems totally impossible to operate without it. Of course, in parallel with this growth of Cyberspace, we have seen the uncontrolled growth of Cybercrime exploiting weaknesses in Cyberspace and causing untold grief and problems to nation states, Governments, enterprises and ordinary people. The essential and strategic role and importance of Cyber Security can therefore never be overemphasized.
One example of the accelerated impact of Cyber Security can be seen by just doing a web search on Cyber Security and Covid-19, finding pages and pages of results. Within a year since we first heard about the virus, Cyber Security became a major player in the pandemic. Furthermore, the developments related to the 4th Industrial Revolution, is just adding more emphasis on Cyberspace, The worries and concerns around new emerging technologies like AI, Machine learning and autonomous systems just will just keep putting more emphasis on Cyber Security to provide solutions to these problems.
It is now well accepted that Cyber Security must be approached from a multi-disciplinary angle – from the technical sciences like Computer Science and Engineering to the human sciences like Psychology, Education and human behavior. Solutions to create real cyber security resilience will have to include all such disciplines, and such new solutions are urgently needed.
Therefore the invitation is to all researchers in all disciplines who are active in the Cyber Security field, to submit contributions to really make CSW 2021 as inclusive as possible. During the conference we will have keynote speeches, plenary lectures and research contributions reflecting the newest developments in Cyber Security and Cyberspace.
We will meet in mid-summer in Sweden, which add a lot of other benefits to attending CSW 2021.
As Conference Chair I am looking forward to meeting you in Stockholm and will do all I can to make sure that all possible is done to ensure CSW 2021 will add real value to the discipline of Cyber Security and to benefit humankind in general – come join to achieve that!
